The D-Prize Global Competition is attracting hundreds of applications from aspiring changemakers. Are you one of them or do you know somebody who is?
D-Prize provides seed funding to turn entrepreneur dreams into impact. As just one example, Green Impact Technologies launched after winning D-Prize in 2018. Founder Admore Chiumia was inspired to apply after meeting Iongwa Mashsagao, founder of Altech Group, a venture that won D-Prize in 2013 and is now the largest solar distributor in DRC. Today Green Impact has distributed over 25,000 solar products in Malawi and raised an additional $1.3M to support scale. "The story of Green Impact begins with D-Prize because it was the first money that made me kickstart my idea," says Admore. "Every pitch I've done since, I mention D-Prize as validation - I take it as the overall mother for whatever came next. I would have gone to the grave with this idea."
Could you be next? For this competition, we aim to award as many as 20 teams of entrepreneurs with up to $20,000 in funding to increase access to life-changing products and services like solar lamps, clean water filters, quality seeds, cervical cancer screening, and more. Check out all of our distribution challenges here.
